Sabre Holdings’ Executives Kick Off Global Volunteer Week at CCA

Sabre Employees to Volunteer at Nonprofits in over 39 Countries around the world

(LEWISVILLE, Texas)—Connecting people with the world’s greatest travel possibilities is the everyday business of Sabre Holdings, and connecting with communities is one if its priorities.  The strong partnership Sabre has with the community extends far beyond Dallas and Fort Worth, reaching out to more than 39 countries around the world where Sabre has offices or home-based employees including Poland, UK, India, Argentina and Australia.

On April 6th, Sabre Holdings’ CEO, Sam Gilliland will join 100 members from Sabre’s executive management team in exchanging their business attire for T-shirts, blue jeans and tool belts to kick-off a week of global volunteerism at Christian Community Action (CCA) in Lewisville, Texas.

CCA is an organization that has been meeting the needs of the poor in North Texas for more than three decades.  CCA serves 12,000 individuals annually, who are in crisis by providing food, housing, medical care and vocational training along with vital personal support and most of all giving hope to the 12,000 individuals CCA serves annually.

“Giving back is part of who we are at Sabre – as one family and as an individual – we are leaving our mark across the globe,” said Chris Serafin, Senior Vice President for Sabre’s Product and Solutions division, and 2010 Global Give Together Campaign Chair. “Our Volunteer Week is part of our Better Travel, Better World mission at Sabre.  We believe that travel allows people to transform the world through human discovery and understanding, by providing meaningful opportunities for lives and cultures to intersect. For me personally, it is very rewarding to see the clear difference we make – demonstrating how just a few hours of our time can positively impact and sustain the lives of those in need for the better, and long after we have left.”

Sabre’s “Give Time Together Kick Off” at CCA will focus on several eco-friendly projects including maintenance on CCA housing units and tending of CCA’s community garden.  Four teams of executives

will be spring cleaning the grounds that surround two of CCA’s housing neighborhoods and prepping the community garden for springtime.  Each of the projects align with Sabre’s environmental sustainability initiatives and commitment to where their employees live and work.

Scott Orr, president of CCA said, “The partnership with Sabre means a great deal to not only CCA, but also to those we serve.  Sabre is making an impact globally by setting the example of getting involved with nonprofits in Texas and around the world!”
